A Peek Inside Sage Moon Apothecary & Curiosities

On June 15, 2018, Sage Moon Apothecary & Curiosities opened it’s doors in Downtown Ellsworth, Maine.  It is home to Sage Moon Apothecary – a working small batch herbal apothecary crafting high quality herbal medicines and natural skincare products, a high end local artisan retail gallery filled with pottery, glass, fine art, jewelry, woodworking, hand bound books, and more, and a therapeutic wellness space offering modalities such as massage, Reiki, Ayurveda, Intuitive Healing, Energetic Bodywork, Midwifery, and Birth Doula Services.  It is truly an amazing space and quickly rising in local popularity.

One of the unique and amazing community oriented features are the yarn bombed pillars, which were created by glass and fiber artist, Linda Perrin.  They are known as Blessing Pillars and passers by are invited to leave their blessings, wishes, and intentions on the poles to be carried out into the world.  At the start of each week it is heartwarming to see all of the new blessings that were added to the pillars while the shop was closed.  (We are only open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays)

The apothecary is an expansion of my successful online business, Sage Moon Apothecary.  It offers an array of herbal medicines in the form of tinctures, syrups, teas, salves, and electuaries.  Additionally, I create high end natural skincare products and aromatherapy products.  There is truly something for everyone.  I am happy to offer short consultations to those that visit the shop seeking some guidance in choosing the best products for their unique needs, and offer appointments for more in depth herbal consultations.  I also am an intuitive energetic bodyworker and have trained in homeopathy, Presence in Healing, Reiki.  I will be offering a very limited number of healing sessions which bring together all of my experience in addition to flower and gemstone essence therapies and harmonic therapy.

Joining the Wellness space are massage therapist, Heidi O’Connor of Eden Therapeutic Massage; midwife Julie Havener, birth doula Nina Emlen, Reiki and Ayurvedic practitioner Jacob Wartell, and massage student (soon to be fully licensed) Stephanie Leonardi.  They are a power packed team of incredible healers!

The main shop is home to a high end artisan gallery holding the work of six partner artisans:  Linda Perrin (glass and fiber arts),  Ashley Witkowski (wire woven gemstone and sea glass jewelry), Jon Ho (pottery and fine art), Roberta Sprague (fine art and collage), Jodie Aragona (fine jewelry), and Anna Woolf (pottery).   There are several fabulous consignment artisans’ work as well, all with Maine roots:  Lizz Godfroy (jewelry), Alexandra Miller (painted bones and curiosities), Abby Damon (fine paintings), Leslie Jones (fine beaded jewelry), Bethany Roberge (hand bound books, boxes, and coasters), James Crampton (fine woodworking), Ranee Levasseur (wood burning art), Dulce & Rugosa (soaps, shampoo bars, bath products), Kate Sebelin (aromatherapy products), Emily Bracale (author, Reiki Master, and local Lyme expert), Richard Matthews (author and local Chiropractic Neurologist).  There is so much talent and beauty in this once space, it’s pretty incredible!

I will leave you with some photos of some of the beauty here at Sage Moon Apothecary & Curiosities. If you are local, I hope you will stop by and see us soon!
